LAUREN SLAYTON MS RD
Lauren Slayton MS RD is the founder of Foodtrainers and the author of the book The Little Book of Thin (Perigee 2014). She received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University where she graduated cum laude with honors in Sociology. She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition at New York University. Prior to opening Foodtrainers, Lauren worked at St Luke’s-Roosevelt obesity research unit and developed a nutrition program for the Equinox fitness clubs. These positions provided Lauren both clinical and counseling experience and in the fall of 2001 Lauren opened Foodtrainers.
Lauren conducts frequent nutrition lectures and webinars on topics ranging from "Trimming your Travel" to "Dude Foods". She has written for and been quoted in articles for many websites, magazines and television programs, including: Allure, In Style, Cooking Light, Harper’s Bazaar, Self, Whole Living, WebMD, The New York Post, John Stewart’s Daily Show, ABC’s Eyewitness News, The Early Show, Fox News, Good Morning America and The Today Show.

CAROLYN BROWN MS RD
Carolyn Brown MS RD completed her masters in clinical nutrition at New York University and holds her undergraduate degree from Tulane University in psychology. While traveling in South America and Southeast Asia, she was introduced to new foods and cultures, sparking an interest in cuisine that eventually led her down the nutrition path. Carolyn gained experience in several nutrition specialty areas including weight management, pediatric and adolescent medicine, cardiac heath and oncology while at NewYork-Presbyterian hospital. Carolyn is passionate about community education. She has nutrition experience teaching at New York City Greenmarkets and working at a private school in Manhattan.
Carolyn is a weekly contributor to WebMD’s Real Life Nutrition blog and the nutrition expert for their Food and Cooking community. She has been quoted and written for many websites, television programs and other publications including the TODAY show, FOX, health.com, CBS news, WebMD, Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, AM New York, and the New York Daily News.
Carolyn wasn’t always a total nutrition nerd. She battled with the freshman 15 and a love-hate (or hate-hate) relationship with the elliptical machine herself. Now she is a certified yoga guide, and loves to mix it up with running, snowboarding and spinning. Carolyn's favorite fruit is pineapple, favorite veggies are in season cherry tomatoes, and favorite splurge is a homemade almond butter cup.
