At the start of any new year, our social feeds are littered with lists from blogs, magazines, and even retailers showcasing the upcoming trends you can expect to see in that industry. The world’s trending health and wellness fads come and go like the tides, even though some of the “special” ingredients and “new” techniques have been known for thousands of years!

We’ve scoured the internet for health and wellness coverage in this format and pulled some market research to find the truth. What’s real and what’s smoke and mirrors?

  1. Levels Continuous Glucose Monitor

Glucose monitoring is extending well beyond the domain of diabetes. Monitoring your glucose levels throughout the day is able to give valuable information to anybody.

  1. Lumen

This is a device that monitors your metabolism and helps you to determine if you are a sugar burner or a carb burner. Knowing what you are burning is going to help you understand what will help you burn more fat.

Some other gadgets we liked besides those two are Joovv, Theragun, and Nurvv.

  1. Hibiscus

Hibiscus is touted for lowering blood pressure, stabilizing blood sugar levels, providing immunity support, and some studies suggest it can support liver health. There is quite a lot of research touting the health benefits of hibiscus.

Some popular hibiscus products include:

  1. Moringa

Moringa is an ingredient from Africa and India. It’s in our Vitality Greens Powder, and is coming for the matcha-obsessed out there. It’s popular in smoothies, sauces, and baked foods.

Popular moringa products:

  1. Elderberry

Elderberry is a popular berry with immune-boosting properties. Especially with everything that’s been going on in the world, it makes sense that we’d see these on the rise.

Popular elderberry products:

  1. Kroma (not a cleanse!)

Kroma feels like it’s everywhere now. The branding is beautiful but you’re paying quite a bit for it. They call it a “reset,” not a cleanse, and it’s meant to kickstart healthy eating habits.

  1. Sakara Metabolism Super Powder

Sakara is a wellness brand with a very different approach from us at Foodtrainers. They have a very beauty-focused brand and have appealing food options for new-to-healthy people out there.

  1. Wegovy

We’re not usually fans of weight loss medication, but Wegovy is very similar to other safe medications out there. It can help reduce food cravings with relatively minor side effects. We do have concerns about the long-term use cases, and it is a very expensive medication.

  1. Gua Sha

This wellness trend is all over TikTok and Instagram. It’s a stone used for facial sculpting which helps revitalize the skin on your face and neck. Facial tools as a whole are on the rise, but this, in particular, is a popular one.

  1. Moms/daughters TikTok

This is another social media trend here: Daughters calling out their parents (usually their mother) on bad diet habits or harmful advice.

These are the biggest trends we’re noticing all over the internet. While trends may come and go, there is tried and true wellness advice out there that is fairly consistent. Your best bet is to take a little bit of both as you move forward on your own wellness journey.
